Kitchen Aid Spoonscale
From a functional electronics prototype to an injection-moulded KitchenAid Product housing

Phase 1: Proof of Concept
I developed a working prototype to validate the core functionality of a scalespoon. This involved programming an ATtiny85 microcontroller to interface with load cells, creating a custom PCB, and housing the electronics in a rapid-prototyped, 3D-printed parts. This phase proved the technical feasibility of an integrated digital measuring spoon.
Phase 2: Design for Manufacture & Brand Integration
Building on the proven concept, I redesigned the product for industrial production. The housing was re-engineered for injection molding, incorporating draft angles, uniform wall thickness and ribbing. The final design embodies the KitchenAid brand language, featuring their characteristic curves, robust feel and a cohesive visual identity. Transforming a technical proof of concept into a viable and feasable product.
